CSR Policy

Bharat Gears Limited (BGL) is a pioneer in Gear Technology and India's largest gear manufacturer. The Board of Directors of the Company, in its meeting held on 28th January, 2015 approved the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy as recommended by the CSR Committee in terms of provisions of Section 135 of the Companies Act, 2013.The said policy is available on the website of the Company, please download the CSR policy from below link:

The broader activities proposed to be undertaken by the Company incorporated under the CSR policy in line with the activities prescribed under the Schedule VII of the Companies Act, 2013 includes:

  • Eradicating hunger, poverty and malnutrition, promoting health care including preventive health care and sanitation (including contribution to the Swach Bharat Kosh set-up by the central Government for the promotion of sanitation) and making available safe drinking water;
  • Promoting education, including special education and employment enhancing vocation skills especially among children, women, elderly and the differently abled and livelihood enhancement projects;
  • Promoting gender equality, empowering women, setting up homes and hostels for women and orphans; setting up old age homes, day care centers and such other facilities for senior citizens and measures for reducing inequalities faced by socially and economically backward groups;
  • Ensuring environmental sustainability, ecological balance, protection of flora and fauna, animal welfare, agro forestry, conservation of natural resources and maintaining quality of soil, air and water (including contribution to the Clean Ganga Fund set-up by the Central Government for rejuvenation of river Ganga).
  • Protection of national heritage, art and culture including restoration of building and sites of historical importance and works of art and setting up of public libraries; promotion and development or traditional arts and handicrafts;
  • Measures for the benefit of armed forces veterans, war widows and their dependents;
  • Training to promote rural sports, nationally recognized sports, Paralympic sports and Olympic sports;
  • Contribution to the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund or any other fund set up by the Central Government for socio-economic development and relief and welfare or the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes, other backward classes, minorities and women;
  • Contribution to incubators funded by Central Government or State Government or any agency or Public Sector Undertaking of Central Government or State Government, and contributions to public funded Universities, Indian Institute of Technology (IITs), National Laboratories and Autonomous Bodies (established under the auspices of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Department of Science and Technology (DST), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology) engaged in conducting research in science, technology, engineering and medicine aimed at promoting Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs);
  • Rural Development projects.
  • Slum area development.
  • Disaster management, including relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction activities.

During the past decades, the Company has voluntarily contributed to the lives of it's associates, stakeholders in many different ways, which forms an integral part of the activities as enumerated in the CSR policy of the Company which has been adopted after the enactment of the Companies Act, 2013. We have also contributed to society especially the needy persons in our special ways and through various NGOs.

  • Women Empowerment: Skill-building, menstrual hygiene awareness, and community engagements

Key FY 2024-25 CSR Highlights

Supporting Education

We donated ` 1 Lakh to Myra Foundation, Faridabad, supporting the education of underprivileged children.

Extending Support to People with Special Needs

We donated ` 2.50 Lakhs to The Association of Parents of Mentally Retarded Children (Adhar) towards providing life time care, training, treatment & rehabilitation to special children. We also donated a sum of ` 1 Lakh to Aaddit Charitable Trust to support individuals with autism and related disabilities through various programmes.

Caring for Needy People

We donated ` 2.99 Lakhs to Robin Hood Army, Faridabad for distribution of foodgrains, including wheat flour, rice and pulses alongside shoes to needy people in local areas. Additionally, we contributed ` 5 Lakhs to Yatharth Foundation for Development for undertaking preventive healthcare initiatives for needy local people and ` 7.50 Lakhs to Vidya Jagat Cancer Foundation (Asian Hospital, Faridabad) for their initiatives in preventive health care.

Promoting Environmental Sustainability

We donated ` 2 Lakhs to ‘Save Aravali Trust’ for their initiatives towards environment sustainability.
